How do i copy films (which iv downloaded) onto a CD, and which type of CD will i need to use?

Hmm… you can make it a VCD but that doesn’t have much space and is low quality. Try DVDs, or if you want to have the files but not watch them in a DVD player buy a hard drive.

To put films on a CD/DVD you would need a specialty program (like Nero Recode Essentials).

the things you have downloaded are in some kinda of video format that are native to most dvd players now aday you need a third party converter and burner to put them on a plain DVD somthing like converterXtoDVD like taking an avi file converting to a vso and then putting it on a dvd for your dvd player to read most now a days should be able to fit on one dvd
