Unless you have Degree of Video and Arts of photography exam, otherwise you could be digital compositor for film.
I think a lot of compostiors have degrees either in film, or in graphic design. if you high school offers any classes in film or design, that would be a good way to start. Usually once you start college you’ll take a lot of film theory classes, but the practical knowledge/soft ware may only be offered occasionally. Most of the Special EFX people I know did an internship right after college, or while they were in college.
It doesn’t hurt to start working with some software on your own. If you are familiar with photoshop, that’s a great starting point. I also recommend After Effects, which has lots of plug-ins for EFX.
