Depends on a couple factors. If you were talking about a specific movie time, I would expect to hear from them no less than maybe 45 minutes before showtime. If it was just a general, hang out whenever time frame I would think no later than 9:00ish depending on everyones schedule the next day.
Between 6-8 I would say to give you a change to get ready to go. It depends on when the movie is, too. Personally if I decided to skip the movie with someone I would let them know before 5 so they could make other plans.
