How about Zoe Keating? She’s a beautiful cellist who uses a Mac computer and foot pedal to make one cello sound like a full orchestra. It’s very unique and astounding actually and I think it’s dark themes could fit the mood for your project. Zoe has actually done some scoring in the past so it seems fit.
Check out her ‘One Cello x 16 – Natoma’ album.
It even has some war themes in the music.
Track List:
Legions (WAR)**
Fern**
Tetrishead**
Sun Will Set**
We Insist**
Legions (Reverie)**
Frozen Angels**
Legions (Aftermath)**
** = Strongly recommended for this project.
Something upbeat to remember the beginning of the nuclear era…maybe…..some zeppelin, or some metal…….
A Japanese band called Dir en Grey did a song called, Hotarubi that is about the bombings of Hiroshima. Its a very soft, haunting song that would work great.
The song is in Japanese-but here are the English lyrics-
First they only droped one bomb on hiroshima
the other one was droped over nagasaki
A good song would be the song god bless america
to show how we over came the odds and stoped the japanese war machine from terrorizeing the pacific
Social Distortion’s 1945
O Fortuna by Carl Orff?
the bomb showed the destrution mankind has unleash.
Cpt Robert A. Lewis, the copilot on the Enola *** look back and saw the explosion. He said, My God, what have we done
