Saltwater

I went down

Into the West

The Field

Edit: You could also consider The Butcher Boy Breakfast on Pluto

Into the West, but only if you can get it with subtitles, as the accent is hard to follow. You might want to introduce them to the story of Oisin and Niamh, and talk to them a little about the Travelling community first.

Also, Cowboys and Angels, set in contemporary Limerick. Great film.

War of the Buttons is a possibility, but it's actually based on a French story, so ....

The Field. Historical fiction.

Michael Collins - brilliant and very sad. Alan Rickman is a PERFECT Eamonn De Valera in it, kudos to the man, he's never disappointed me yet.

The Barrytown Trilogy: The Commitments, The Snapper (probably the best black comedy made in Europe during the 1990s) and The Van. But only if you can get them with subtitles ....

You should show them Rat

It has a variety of accents in it and you should just show it to them anyway.

Into the West
War of the Buttons

The Last of the high Kings ( I doubt you would find that though)
The General)

Anything by Roddy Doyle

These will be great to watch for the different ascents. As for showing off the country, I doubt they would make anyone want to visit.

Please make sure they NEVER watch Far and Away.

Saving Ryan Air

Guess who's coming to the fundraising dinner

One flew over Kildare Street (on his way to Manchester)

A new version of Back To The Future is being made. It will be called Back To The Past starring Bertie Ahern as Marty McFly, Mary Harney as 'Doc' Emmet Brown, Brian Cowen as Biff(o) and Willie O' Dea as George McFly. In the film they all travel back to 1995 in a Government jet to try and save us from the recession we are in now.
