put it on a cd first. or maybe a flash drive
There are lots of ways.
If you’re going from XP to Vista can buy a transfer cable which when connected to both your computers will transfer any selected files over or create a mirror image of the old hard drive on your new comp of you want it to:
Or you could copy all of your music onto an external hard drive and then just plug it into your new comp (or use a USB flashdrive, but these normally only hold about 2 gigs of data so you’d need to transfer the music over piece by piece).
Or you can use a program like iDump:
which copies the contents of your iPod and stores it on your hard drive, in your case the hard drive of your new computer.
Or I suppose you could email it to the new comp, or burn your music onto multiple CDs but I’d advise against this as it would take FOREVER.
If I were you I’d go with the iDump option it’s the fastest, most simple and free.
Oh by the way, when you store it on your new computer you’ll probably need to manually recreate the playlists in your iTunes library and drag and drop the music into them, as unfortunately Apple deliberately makes the transfer of any music a difficult and annoying process. Remember if you have any files that were purchased with iTunes store you will need your login information to access them, and you will need to authorize your new computer to work with your iPod by going Store Authorize Computer.
Good luck x
You could burn all the songs on DVD or cd (if no DVD burner) as a data disk using MP3 format. Then transfer to other computer. use a Ipod to transfer to other computer or use a flash drive or a external hard drive.
Or you can create a backup CD, it’s pretty easy if you have a few blank CDs lying around, some time and a CD burner drive. Open iTunes, Click File, and click ‘Back up to disk’. It will then ask what you would like to back up, all songs changed since last backup, all songs, or all purchased songs. Then click ‘Back up’ and it will begin. You then just need to worry about space on the disk, if your iTunes library is over about 700MB-1GB, you may need a few disks
1.) First put your computer on your I-tunes plylist for all the song you want on your labtop
2.) Then if you have one your your portable USP port plug it in let it load up idn your hardrive(let it load up a few seconds)
3.)Then when it’s on your CP it will appear in your I-tunes tab that says detected devise thenclick on the tab and drag all the songs you want onto the sync them on there
4.)after your done take outnthe USB and plug it in your labtop and once again it will say in the tab device detected
5.)click the tab
6.)load up I-tunes
7.)drag it on to your songs file or your playlist save it
8.) DONE!!
I wouldn’t recommend putting it on a CD, on average you can get only 17 songs on a CD, you could put it on an external hard drive or put it on a USB stick.
