You get them from book wholesalers. Your public library can show you reference books for finding them. You may find local ones in your Yellow Pages, but you get better prices from other companies, so shop around.

You really ought to spend a bit of time working in a bookstore to learn the operations. Even a part-time shift will teach you things you never thought to consider. Or at least take a bookstore manager to lunch and do an informational interview with him about running a bookstore.

Used books (you didn’t ask, but hey) can be had by the bagful from library sales, estate sales, and fundraisers. You can also buy them from customers, and you can give them trade-in credits, too.

I would find an overstock web site. They normal sell you the books at a cheaper price so that you may sell them for retail and make a profit.

New books are ordered from either the publisher or book wholesalers. Ingram is a good company that has comprehensive lists of books and carries most publishers. There are otheres.

    Good luck!
