If you load the Flixster application, you can make a list if all your favourite movies in that, under the My Movies menu.

You can show a thumbnail of the poster for each of the films on your list.

In fact, there is something EXACTLY like Visual Bookshelf… The same developer of Visual Bookshelf also created LivingSocial: Movies (http://movies.livingsocial.com). It follows the same general premise and format, so it would be very easy for you to get started.
